Lc3 Le Corbusier: Comfort for Everyone

If you are looking for a couch for your living room, that it’s comfortable and at the same time that gives a glimpse of elegance to your furniture, the sofa lc3 le Corbusier it’s the couch for you. The sofa lc3 le Corbusier was projected in 1928 and showed for the first time in 1929 at the “Salon d’Automne” in Paris: it aroused the adverse reactions of the purists furniture. Up at that moment the couch was projected and realized with an internal  framework around which was built a padding: the padding was the only visible part of the couch.

Few designers have been as fêted, derided, and ultimately influential as Le Corbusier. Primarily an architect, Le Corbusier believed that the correct application of modern materials and building methods could deliver better living conditions, and ultimately a better quality of life for the residents of crowded cities. Charles-Edouard Jeanneret Gris adopted the single name Le Corbusier to demonstrate his belief that anyone could reinvent oneself – a practice that was in vogue among many leading artists in 1920’s Paris.

Le Corbusier was an architect and urban theorist who pursued his vision of “the good society” for over 40 years. Not all of his ideas of utopian urban living are still relevant today, but LC3  remains a fixture in elegant, modern homes and offices around the world, nearly eight decades after its creation.

With the sofa lc3 by le Corbusier the classic vision of the couch was revolutionized: the framework, made with tubular steel (the Swiss designer often used the steel for his works), is completely outside the couch and gives to it a completely new style, minimalist but elegant at the same time. Thanks to technical innovations the sofa lc3 by le Corbusier offers a great comfort (thanks to the big and soft cushions padded with polyurethane foam): these cushions will not warp with the use and the time passing by. This couch offers at the same time a great elegance, and remains in fashion for over eighty years.

The Le Corbusier group, which on this particular project included Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, referred to their LC3 and the similar, smaller-scaled LC2 collections as “cushion baskets,” created to provide a modernist take on the ubiquitous club chair. On the Grand Confort seats, the cushions are held in place without being attached to the frame, providing the comfort of a well-padded chair while still adhering to the industrial and minimalist principals of modernism’s International Style.

So, if you have choose to make a present for you and your home and have decide to buy a sofa lc3 by le Corbusier, you can find it in various colors and tissues. You can choose this couch with the original leather coating or else a cotton coating, surely more practical. If you will buy a sofa lc3, this couch will surprise you for its comfort but also for its elegance: this couch is really a piece of history design and will give a touch of elegance and style to all your furniture.
